Apply to become AAFC Staff
The AAFC has a ‘constrained establishment’ set by Air Force which operates on a national and squadron basis and means that limits are set on the numbers of cadets and staff.
This means that not every person who wishes to support the AAFC can be appointed as an Instructor or Officer of Cadets.
To meet the need for adequate staff intake all persons deemed suitable to assist the AAFC are on-boarded as Defence Approved Helpers (Civilian Instructor Volunteers).
Information regarding the roles and responsibilities of Civilian Instructor Volunteers, and the pre-requisites for acceptance, can be found by clicking the button on the right.
Applicants who are appointed as Civilian Instructors may be selected for appointment as Instructors or Officers of Cadets following additional suitability checking and training.
How to express interest in becoming a Civilian Instructor
Click the Expression of Interest button on the right and complete the Expression of Interest Form.
Note: Applicants must be eighteen (18) years of age to start the application process.
