Eleven cadets and four staff from 330 (City of Shoalhaven) Squadron were among hundreds who participated in the 10th Shoalhaven Nowra Relay for Life. The event, held at Nowra Showground on 6 and 7 April, saw teams walking for 24 hours to raise money for the Cancer Council.
The group was inspired to participate because of the prevalence of cancer in society today. “We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, including members of our Squadron” said Commanding Officer, Warrant Officer (AAFC) Neil Gamble.
Though there were some sore feet the next day, the unit managed to complete the full 24 hours of the event, with a member of the team walking at all times. The cadets contributed to the estimated $275,000 raised by the event.
