303 Squadron is part of the Australian Air Force Cadets, which is the premier youth organisation in Australia.
At the end of each year, the Squadron holds a Final Parade where the cadets demonstrate what they have learnt over the year to their families.
In December 2013, the Parade Reviewing Officer was the Vice Chief of the Defence Force, Air Marshal Mark Binskin AO.
“I was really pleased to be offered the opportunity to attend the final parade for the year at 303 Squadron,” Air Marshal Binskin said.
“It was a great day and fantastic to see so many keen young men and women interested in cadets. The dress and drill were of a high standard and I hope some will go on to join the Air Force in the future.
“I enjoyed it and I know the parents did as well.”
After a number of years here at Camden as an Air Training Corps Cadet and a period of service with the Royal Australian Navy, Air Marshal Binskin transferred to the Royal Australian Air Force in 1984. His previous command appointments include:
- Commanding Officer of 77 Squadron,
- Commander of Air Combat Group, and
- Air Commander Australia.
Air Marshal Binskin served as the Chief of Air Force from 2008 to 2011. In July 2011 he was appointed as Vice Chief of the Defence Force.
303 Squadron’s next recruit night is 7pm at Camden Airport on Friday 7th February 2014. Those interested in joining the Squadron who are over the age of 12 are invited to attend the night with their parents.
