He holds instructor ratings and testing approvals in general aviation, sport aviation and gliding. In addition to owning his own high performance aircraft he is a competition aerobatic and formation pilot in powered aircraft and gliders.
An expert in Aviation Safety Management and competency based flying training, he was a senior manager with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for a period of twenty years and retired just two weeks ago.
Peter is responsible for AAFC gliding operations in QLD (2 Wing and 1 Wing) and is also the Senior Aviation Advisor to the Director General Cadets, on the acquisition and operationalising of the RAAF’s 19 new hi-performance gliders.
2 WG will operate 5 of these new gliders for the training of cadets. 213 SQN cadets have been well represented at both gliding and powered flying camps.
