WGCDR Tony Lee at the recent IACE Association conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, was elected unanimously as the new President of the Association.
He is only the second Aussie to be elected to the position in its history (since 1947).
The first was Air Commodore Hugh Bartholumeusz who in July took over the role as National Chairman of the AAFC Council.
WGCDR(AAFC) Anthony (Tony) Lee joined the AAFC as a cadet in 1981 at 20FLT (QAIRTC) Kedron QLD. He reached the rank of CUO before becoming a staff member in 1987. He has had continuous service with the AAFC since joining and has held numerous positions including CO 212 SQN AAFC, 2WG RXO and Staff Officer Parachute Training.
In 2006 he was appointed to his current position of Director of International Public Affairs and promoted to WGCDR(AAFC). His current portfolio encompasses group exchange activities, the IACE programme, Public Affairs & Communications, Adventure Training, Senior Firearms Officer .22 and Senior Firearms Officer F88.
Outside his interest in the AAFC, Tony holds a management position in sales and marketing. He is also very involved with the RAAF Association.
