WGCDR(AAFC) Mark Dorward, current National Director of Aviation Training for the AAFC, accepted the Southern Cross Award and induction into the Australian Aviation Hall of Fame, on behalf of the AAFC, last night at an awards ceremony in Wagga Wagga.
The Southern Cross Award is especially designed for organisations which, like individual inductees, have made an outstanding contribution to civil aviation.
The AAFC was recognised for the training it has provided to thousands of commercial pilots who have gone on to make a career in the civil aviation industry.
Past inductees include the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, Bert Hinkler, Ross and Keith Smith, Reg Ansett, Max Hazelton, Don Kendell and Lores Bonney.
Congratulations and a job well done to all the AAFC/AIRTC members whose efforts were duly rewarded and recognised by this presentation.
