The AAFC’s National Aviation Competition (NAC14) was conducted over the period 26 Nov 14 – 29 Nov 14 at the new aviation facility in Bathurst NSW (BATAC). The aviation competition included glider and powered flying with 26 cadets representing their respective Wings. The results of the competition are as follows;
Winner of the Fysh-McGuiness Trophy (QANTAS Founders) for the Best Powered Cadet
- LCDT Benjamin Traplin – 402 SQN
Winner of the K.J.Broomhead Cup –for the Best Gliding Cadet
- CCPL James Spearpoint CM381500 – 335 SQN
The QANTAS Cup for the Best Wing
- 3 Wing
The Rawdon Middleton VC Trophy – Cadets displaying best Airmanship in their discipline.
- Powered – LCDT Keelan Robinson CM381522 – 338 SQN
- Gliding – CCPL Vladislav Zhelezarov CM611796 – 609SQN
The following cadets are also to be congratulated for their attendance and participation in the competition.
The event was sponsored by QANTAS. The AAFC thanks QANTAS for their support in this key event in the AAFC Calendar.
In addition to the trophies awarded, QANTAS provided a Scholarship to the four winning cadets to assist in their flying training.
