Just a short note to extend to you my very best wishes for this festive season and my hope that your year in 2015 will be exciting and happy.
The last few weeks have seen some harrowing times in Australia and around the world, displaying both the worst and the best of human behaviour.
When our orderly path is disrupted by the abhorrent actions of individuals intent on destroying our way of life, it is important to identify and hold on to the things that matter. Like the spiritual enrichment that springs from belonging – belonging to a family; to a group of friends; to an organisation.
You belong to one of Australia’s finest youth organisations. We may be part time and we may come from all walks of Australian life, but we are an incredibly tight knit family. There are over 8300 of us – AAFC staff and cadets – bound together by the common values of loyalty, teamwork, respect, courage and honour. And the AAFC belongs to the Air Force family increasing many fold the network of stability and support for each of us. It is a great feeling knowing that you are part of an organisation that is woven into the fabric of this nation.
Enjoy this Christmas and New Year season with your family and friends. Stay safe. have fun, and take the opportunity to tell your loved ones how much they enrich your life.
We have some exciting plans for the AAFC that we want to kick off in 2015, so I am looking forward to working with you to take our organisation from good to great.
Merry Christmas
GPCAPT (AAFC) Greg Williamson
