Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Leo Davies AO CSC has today appointed Mark Dorward as Commander of the Australian Air Force Cadets with the rank of Group Captain (AAFC).
“In welcoming the new Commander, I also extend my sincere appreciation to Group Captain (AAFC) Paul Gregory for his achievements during his tenure as Commander,” said Air Marshal Davies.
“GPCAPT(AAFC) Dorward has had a long association with the AAFC since joining as a Cadet and completing a flying scholarship, before becoming an Instructor of Cadets in 1994.
“With the rank of Wing Commander (AAFC), he has led AAFC Aviation Operations nationally since 2009.”
Mark Dorward is an experienced aviator and Managing Director of Hinterland Aviation in Cairns.
Following national extensive public advertising of the role, GPCAPT(AAFC) Dorward assumes the appointment at an important time in the development of the ADF Cadet program, which will include the formation of an ADF Cadets Headquarters in February 2017.
“I wish GPCAPT (AAFC) Dorward every success during his appointment in command and look forward to working with him to further the advancement of aviation in the AAFC,” said Air Marshal Davies.
