Wing Commander (AAFC) Danny Pieri
As Deputy Commander of the Australian Air Force Cadets, Wing Commander (AAFC) Danny Pieri works closely with the Commander and Cadets Branch - Air Force, to drive the organisation’s commitment to continuous improvement and best practice in youth development.
Danny’s prime executive responsibility is to manage our day-to-day operations. This involves close collaboration with all Headquarters Directors, and Officers Commanding of our Wings in each State, working with them to jointly develop and maintain a streamlined, efficient, safe and dynamic organisation that provides all members - both Cadets and staff - with the skills and tools they need to achieve greatness in their lives.
Since joining the organisation as an Aircraftman (AAFC) more than 30 years ago, Danny has progressed through the ranks and served in many roles at Squadron, Wing and national levels; including as Training Officer, Staff Officer, Executive Officer, Wing Officer Commanding (North Queensland), and Director Operations; until assuming the Deputy Commander role in mid-2016.
The Australian Air Force Cadets actively promotes the value of loyalty, leadership, teamwork, self-reliance, respect, courage and honour, and Wing Commander (AAFC) Danny Pieri regards himself as privileged to serve our nation by helping instil these values in Cadets and staff.
In his private life, Danny Pieri is a senior manager with one of Australia’s largest non-government, not-for-profit, disability service providers, which employs more than 5,500 people in 230 locations throughout Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Wing Commander (AAFC) Danny Pieri is married and has one daughter. His personal interests include golf, motor sports, fishing and travel.
